This weekend, on November 22 and 23, the III International Song and Dance Festival "Border-town beat" will take place in the neighbor cities Valka in Latvia and Valga in Estonia, as LETA was informed by Valka City Council Press Secretary Inguna Medne.

Participants of the festival will include singers and dancers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland. The same as in the previous years, the festival's participants will be highly professional, winners of various international competitions.

The opening of the festival will take place on November 22, a number of creative workshops will be held at Valka Culture Center. Folklore dance group "Sudmalinas" from Valka will teach songs, dances and traditional games to the participants.

The festival's closing concert will take place on Sunday, November 23, at Valga Culture Center.

At the festival, Latvia will be represented by dance groups "Dzirnas" and "Extrem" from Riga and vocal group "Peksni" from Valmiera; Estonia will be represented by music bands "Suvenir" and "Pepi dance", Estonia's most popular hip hop band "Street Ballet" from Tallinn and vocal group "IRIS". Lithuania will be represented by dance groups "Intrus" and "Diana".
