 The Latvian U-19 women's basketball team has been drawn into the same preliminary round group at this year's World U-19 Women's Basketball Championships with Canada, Mozambique and hosts Thailand, according to today's draw, reported LETA. 

Latvia has been drawn into Group A.

Canada took silver at the U-18 Americas championship, while Mozambique took the silver in the African tournament last summer.

After the completion of the group stage, the teams in Group A will play the teams in Group B in the opening knockout round.

Group B is made up of Belgium, China, Mali and Argentina.

The Latvian U-18 women's basketball team finished in fourth place at last summer's European Championships, thus qualifying for this year's U-19 World Championships.

Meanwhile, Group C is made up of the United States, Hungary, Australia and South Korea, while Group D is made up of Germany, Spain, Japan and Colombia.
