Lithuania marked its 101st Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania on Saturday, with the flags of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia hoisted at Simonas Daukantas Square in a solemn ceremony.

"I wish all the people of Lithuania to be proud of their Homeland, to be proud of their history, to be proud of our people as it only depends on us whether we will remain free not only in our hears and thoughts but also in the future," Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite told the crowd.

Several rounds were fired during the ceremony for the unity of the Baltic state, for Lithuania's independence, for the signatories to the 1918 Act of Independence and for the leadership of the Union of Lithuanian Freedom Fighters who signed the Declaration of February 16, 1949.
