Ostapenko through to second round of Qatar Ladies Open

Print versionLatvia's Alona Ostapenko on Tuesday won her second match this season to reach the second round of the Qatar Ladies Open.
Ostapenko, who is ranked 22 in the WTA rankings at the moment, defeated Mihaela Buzarnescu (ranked 29th) 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 in the first round of the tournament.
Ostapenko has earned 55 WTA ranking points for advancing to the second round, where she will play the fourth-seeded Elina Svitolina of Ukraine.
As reported, Latvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova lost to Russia's Anna Blinkova 6-7, 4-6 in the opening round of the tournament earlier today.
