Aristotle's bust from Athens to be exhibited in Vilnius

A marble best-preserved bust of ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, brought from the Acropolis Museum in Athens, will be exhibited at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius, informed LETA/BNS. 


Valued at 1 mln euros, the unique exhibit will be presented as part of an international exhibition about Aristotle on Friday, the Lithuanian museum said.


All in all, there are over a dozen known marble busts of Aristotle but this one is in the best shape and is the only found undamaged bust with the nose intact.


This bust was found during archeological research the Acropolis Museum in 2005.
