Latvian ice hockey team beats Slovenia in exhibition match

The Latvian national men's ice hockey team, made up of Latvia's closest reserves, defeated Slovenia 3:1 in the opening match of the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge exhibition tournament in Minsk on Thursday, informed LETA. 


Rudolfs Maslovskis, Martins Dzierkals and Edgars Kulda scored the goals for Latvia.


Latvia will take on France today, and conclude the tournament on Saturday against Belarus.


Next year's Ice Hockey World Championships will be played in Slovakia in May.
