Bertans opens his third NBA season with nine points in a win against Timberwolves
Latvian forward Davis Bertans opened his third NBA season by scoring nine points as his San Antonio Spurs defeated Minnesota Timberwolves 112:108 (31:23, 25:29, 25:31, 31:25) on Wednesday, informed LETA.
Bertans was on the floor for 17 minutes, hitting three out of four three-point shots, grabbing one rebound and making one assist.
DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with 28 points, LaMarcus Aldridge scored 21 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, and Rudy Gay scored 18 points. Meanwhile, Jeff Teague scored 27 points for the Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler scored 23 points and Andrew Wiggins 20 points.
The Spurs will play their next game at the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
Last season, Bertans averaged 5.9 points in 77 regular season matches and 3.4 points in five playoff games.
