Seven Latvian and seven Estonian clubs to compete in Latvia-Estonia United Basketball League next season

 Latvian Basketball Association and Estonian Basketball Federation have approved fourteen clubs' bids to compete in Latvia-Estonia United Basketball League in the 2018-2019 season, Latvian Basketball Association announced LETA/BNS.

The Latvian Basketball Association has confirmed that seven Latvian clubs will compete in the Latvia-Estonia Basketball League next season: Ventspils, VEF Riga, Jurmala, Ogre, Latvijas Universitate, Liepaja, and Valmiera Glass/Vidzemes Augstskola.


One more Latvian club, Jekabpils has been given one week to rectify shortcomings in its bid, while Kekava's bid has been turned down as the club does not meet several requirements of the Latvia-Estonia Basketball League.


Seven Estonian clubs to compete in the league are Tallinn Kalev/Cramo, Tartu University, Rapla, Parnu Sadam, Valga/Valka, TTU KK, and TLU Kalev.


The regular season will continue from September 29 to March 23 next year. The quarterfinals will be played from March 27 to April 2. The semifinals and the final match will be played on April 5 and 6.


Latvian Basketball Championship playoffs will start on April 10 featuring six best teams from the Latvia-Estonia Basketball League's regular season
