BC, Riga, 17.07.2018.Print version

Latvian small forward Rodions Kurucs was signed to a contract by the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

The Nets said, while not revealing any details, that Kurucs had signed for more than one year.

On the other hand, the player's agent Arturs Kalnitis said on Twitter that Kurucs had signed a four-year deal with the Nets – three years guaranteed with the fourth year a team option.

The media previously wrote that the Nets had offered the 20-year-old Latvian a four-year contract worth USD 7 mln.

Last week, Sportando reported that the Nets had agreed to a buyout of Kurucs from his previous club - Barcelona Lassa, offering to pay Lassa USD 750,000 to settle Kurucs' contract issues.

The Nets selected Kurucs with the 40th pick in this year's NBA Draft in June.

Kurucs has become the fifth Latvian selected in the NBA Draft after Andris Biedrins in 2004, Davis Bertans in 2011, Janis Timma in 2013, Kristaps Porzingis in 2014 and Anzejs Pasecniks in 2017.
