The Riga Municipal Police caught a German tourist, who had climbed up a wall in Riga's medieval Old Town on a bet, but he got off with a warning about dangers from such adventure, informs LETA.

The video surveillance center of the Municipal Police on June 16 spotted in the cameras a bunch of tourists gazing up a building in Old Riga. Having turned the camera, they saw a man climbing down from the second floor of the building, holding onto the wall and then to the nearby road sign pole, and sent a patrol to investigate.

The patrol caught up with the man on a nearby street. The man, who turned out to be a German tourist, at first claimed he had not done anything wrong but, when presented with a video recording of his descent, admitted that he had climbed the wall on a bet.

Having inspected the scene, the municipal police officers concluded that there was no damage to the building or the road sign pole therefore the German got off with a warning about dangers from such reckless behavior, including injuries to himself and damage to others' property.
