Defending MX2 world champion Pauls Jonass (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team) on Sunday placed fifth at the MXGP of Portugal, reports LETA.

Jonass' teammate Jorge Prado (Spain) won the fifth round of the 2018 Motocross World Championship, finishing first in both races, while Thomas Kjer Olsen (Denmark) finished second and Jed Beaton (Australia) third. Jonass placed second in Race 1 and seventh in Race 2, finishing fifth overall.

As reported, Jonass was first in the first three GPs but finished fifth in fourth place in the previous round.

In the overall standings, Jonass is still in first place with 216 points, while Prado is second with 202 points and Olsen is third with 185 points.

In MXGP class, Jeffrey Herlings (Netherlands) was first yesterday, Antonio Cairoli (Italy) placed second and Tim Gajser (Slovenia) third.
