Riga Dinamo sees increase in attendance despite another disappointing season

Despite yet another disappointing season, Latvian ice hockey club Riga Dinamo saw an increase in attendance this past season, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) informs, cites LETA.


Riga Dinamo's home game were the 42nd most attended in Europe this past season, down from 75th place last year and 13th after the 2013/2014 season.


On average, 5,548 spectators attended Dinamo's home games this past season, up from an average of 4,457 last season.


Already for the 17th year in a row, Swiss ice hockey club Bern had the best attended home game in Europe, with 16,371 persons attending each of the club's home games on the average.


The second most attended home games was for Russian ice hockey club St Petersburg SKA (11,847 on average), and Belarus ice hockey club Minsk Dynanmo (11,738).


As reported, Dinamo finished in last place in the Kontinental Ice Hockey League's Western Conference standings this season and failed to qualify for the KHL playoffs for the fourth season in a row.
