Sevastova through to quarterfinals of Brisbane

Print versionOn Tuesday, Latvia's second-best ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova defeated Romania's Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 6-1 in the second round of the Brisbane WTA Premier series tennis tournament, informs LETA.
At the moment, Sevastova is ranked 16th in the WTA rankings, while Cirstea is ranked 37th.
Sevastova has earned 100 WTA ranking points for advancing to the quarterfinals of the Brisbane tournament, where she will play Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic.
As reported, Sevastova opened the new tennis season on Sunday with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Australia's Samantha Stosur at the Brisbane tournament.
