Telsiu Misku Uredija (Telsiai Forestry) issued flyers saying "Let"s help a bear – symbol of Samogitia" and gave them to the heads of Telsiai districts, businessmen and other persons who could help to improve the living conditions of bear Timofejus.

The public institution Telsiu Misku Uredija purchased a brown bear from Rudamina poultry farm in 2006 and settled it in "Zverincius". By purchasing a bear – symbol of Samogitia, Telsiai forestry specialists aimed to present the past of Samogitia, promote Samogitian determines, love for one"s land and nature.

At the moment the bear is in a metal cage unsuitable for its keeping and the visitors of "Zverincius" often leave outrageous comments about this on the internet site of the forestry, writes ELTA.

Telsiai District Municipality was among the first to agree to help to improve the bear"s conditions. Telsiai district businessmen association and Telsiai district small businessmen association have signed an agreement "On the erection of the new house for bear Timofejus". The district mayor and the presidents of business associations signed the promise that they will contribute to the improvement of the bear"s conditions.
