Jurmala will host the European Under-22 Beach Volleyball Championship next year, the European Volleyball Confederation announced today, cites LETA.

The championship will be taking place at Majori beach in Jurmala July 26 to 29.

This year, Majori hosted the European Volleyball Championship's finals. In 2015, Riga hosted the U-18 Championship.

Latvian Volleyball Federation's President Atis Sausnitis told LETA this past October that Latvia had applied to host the U-22 Championship as there were a lot of talented players in Latvia who could compete for medals.

In the women's tournament, Latvia's Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka, who won the U-22 European title in Greece last year, will be among the favorites. Latvians' biggest hope in the men's tournament will be Mihails Samoilovs and Kristaps Smits, who won the bronze medals at the U-21 Championship this year.
