New secret military mobilization plan prepared in Latvia

Print versionThe Latvian Defense Ministry has prepared a new army mobilization plan that will replace the plan developed in 2006, informs LETA.
The ministry’s press service reported that the new mobilization plan has been upgraded in line with changes in the security situation and structural changes in the National Armed Forces in the past years.
The government plans to discuss the plan on October 31 in a closed meeting.
As reported, the National Armed Forces Mobilization Exercise 2017 is held in Latvia in September and October to test efficiency of the mobilization procedures and mechanisms. Such mobilization exercise is organized in Latvia for the first time.
