"Alexei Shirov's Winter Cup" cancelled in Latvia

Print versionA few days ago I had to cancel my next traditional children's event "Alexei Shirov's Winter Cup" that I held every year in Jurmala around February-March since 2012. Too many unsolvable problems with Jurmala City Council as well as with the heads of Latvian chess federation Andris Ozols and Aris Ozolinsh that keep total power in Latvian chess these days, writes Alexey on his Facebook page.
I am practically outside of Latvian chess circuit from now on, although occasionally I might still participate in some local events as long as I live in Riga - my native and beloved town.
