Ostapenko through to Seoul WTA quarterfinals

On Thursday, Latvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko defeated Japan's Nao Hibino 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Seoul WTA International series tennis tournament, informs LETA.

At the moment, Ostapenko is ranked 10th in the WTA rankings, while Hibino is ranked 72nd.

Ostapenko has earned 60 WTA rankings points for advancing to the quarterfinals of the Seoul tournament, where she will take on Paraguay's Veronica Cepede Royg, who is currently ranked 77th in the world.
