Ostapenko through to 2nd round of Korea Open

Print versionLatvia's Alona Ostapenko defeated Johanna Larsson (Sweden) 7-6 (8:6), 6-1 in the first round of the Korea Open on September 19th, informs LETA.
Ostapenko, who is seeded first at the Korea Open, is currently ranked tenth in the WTA rankings, while Larsson is in 85th plalce.
After a very hard first set that continued for 55 minutes, with both players holding onto their serve into the tie-break, the second set took far less time as Larsson won just one game in the entire set.
In the second round of the tournament, Ostapenko will play Japan's Nao Hibino.
