On Monday morning precipitation in Riga exceeded 20 millimeters, which is the heaviest rain in the Latvian capital so far this year, LETA learned from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.

The previous heaviest rain was recorded on September 2, when the day’s precipitation in the capital reached 21.5 millimeters.

Rain will continue through today and by the evening might reach 45 millimeters.

Rigas Satiksme municipal transport company reported that public transport is late and delays even reach up to 50 minutes.
