Latvian U-16 men's b-ballers beat Russia at European Championships; advance to quarters

knockout stage round match at the European U-16 Men's Basketball Championships
today, the Latvian U-16 men's basketball team defeated Russia 84:82 in
overtime, informs LETA.
The Latvian squad
was down by 10 points with just two minutes left in regulation, but fought back
to force the overtime and pulled out the victory.
The highest scorer
for Latvian was Kristaps Kilps with
22 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Ojars
Berzins with 18 points.
With the win,
Latvia has advanced to the tournament's quarterfinals, where it will play against
Croatia.
