Mobile Passport Working Station of Latvian Foreign Ministry to visit Australia and New Zealand in October
Latvian nationals will be able to apply for personal identity documents in Australia and New Zealand as the Mobile Passport Working Station will be visiting the region from October 9 to October 26 this year, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Interior and Honorary Consuls of Latvia will provide a possibility for Latvian nationals living in Australia and New Zealand to apply for passports and ID cards during the visit of the Mobile Passport Working Station. Due to this, Latvian nationals will not be required to travel to Latvia or a closest country where Latvia has consular representation to apply for new personal identity documents.
Biometric data will be collected at Latvian Honorary Consulates in Australia - in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. Latvian nationals permanently residing in New Zealand will be able to apply for passports and ID cards in Auckland on October 26.
Detailed information regarding the schedule of the Mobile Passport Working Station in every city and information on the documents required is available at Latvian Honorary Consulates.
The Foreign Ministry said that this was the third time the visit of a Mobile Passport Working Station was organized in Australia and New Zealand. The previous visit took place in 2014, and 633 passport and ID card applications for Latvian nationals in six cities were processed during that visit.
