NATO is holding the Ramstein Alloy 4 air force exercise in the Baltic airspace on Tuesday and Wednesday, writes LETA.

The two-day exercise will mainly be held over Lithuanian airspace.

Participants in the drills will practice air intercepts, air to air refueling, search and rescue operations, as well as diversions, and approaches to different Baltic airfields, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.

Involved aircraft will also train intercept procedures for COMLOSS situations, a scenario in which a civilian aircraft loses contact with ground control and requires mid-air identification by air policing alert jets.
