Edvinas Eimontas, president of the Lithuanian Football Federation, has recalled his resignation from the post, reports LETA/BNS.

"They (opponents) did not only need the president's post but also aimed to diminish me as a person and all the changes that are currently gaining momentum. This is what I noticed shortly. In this light, I decided to cancel my resignation from the president's post," Eimontas told a news conference on Monday.

He restated he had been subjected to pressure from the federation's Executive Committee who threatened to destroy his reputation.

On the official website of the Lithuanian Football Federation, members of the Executive Committee published a message to dismiss the accusations from the president.

"The statements given over and over again by the LFF president about the Executive Committee allegedly objecting the plans to draft the Good Management Practice report and change of the bylaws are ungrounded," reads the message.
