Latvian girls' U-18 team loses to Serbia, fails to qualify for 2017 European Championship

Print versionThe Latvian girls' U-18 volleyball team was defeated by
Serbia 0-3 (15:25, 11:25, 10:25) in a decisive qualification match in Riga on
Sunday, failing to qualify for the Girls' U18 Volleyball European Championship
this year, informs LETA.
Kristine Teivane was the highest scorer with six points,
while Marta Kamelija Levinska had four points. Dejana Lekic led the way for
Serbia with sixteen points.
In the first qualification match on Friday, Latvia lost to Ukraine
but beat Montenegro on Saturday. Serbia has topped the qualification group with
nine points, Ukraine placed second with five points, Latvia has three points
and Montenegro one.
The 2017 Girls' U18 Volleyball European Championship will be
played in Netherlands in April.
