Bertans ejected as Spurs beat Bucks

Latvian forward Davis Bertans was ejected from the San Antonio Spurs' game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, nevertheless, the Spurs went on to win the game 97:96 (26:24, 9:24, 36:25, 26:23).


The Spurs have won all twelve games on the road, while losing four of nine matches at home.

Bertans was ejected at the end of the third quarter as his teammate Dewayne Dedmon and Milwaukee's Greg Monroe were fighting for a rebound, and Bertans shoved Monroe away from Dedmond. Other players entered the fray and another Bucks player, Michael Beasley shoved Bertans in turn. The referees eventually issued technical faults to Dedmond and Monroe, while Bertans and Beasley were ejected from the game.


Up until then, Bertans had been on the floor for eight minutes, making one of two free throws. He also had one rebound and one assist.


Kawhi Leonard was the highest scorer for the Spurs last night with 21 points and nine rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge had eighteen points and also nine rebounds. On the other hand, Jabari Parker led the way for the Bucks with 23 points.


After the game, Bertans said that when he was playing in Serbia, players would get rejected for real fights.


"I played in Serbia," commented Bertans. "It was kind of crazy there. It happened at least once a season."


"In Serbia, we'd get ejected for real fights," said Bertans.


At the moment, the Spurs are in second place in the NBA Western Conference with seventeen wins in 21 games, while the Bucks are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with ten wins after nineteen matches.
