Estonian Olympic Committee worried about athletes due to Rio water pollution

Print versionThe Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK) is concerned about health risks to athletes due to the pollution of waters in water sports venues of the Rio Olympic Games, reports LETA/BNS.
"Of course we are concerned for each of our athletes," EOK secretary general Siim Sukles said. "In the interest of our athletes' health we had the entire delegation vaccinated and provided everyone with mosquito and bug repellents," he added.
As to water pollution, the organizers of the Olympic Games test water purity 2-3 times a day and have taken steps to keep it clean, Sukles said.
