Ostapenko drops out of Canadian Open

Print version Latvia's highest-ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko lost to Romania's
Monica Niculescu 6-3, 5-7, 1-6 in the first round of the Canadian Open last
night, write LETA.
Ostapenko won the first set and was leading 3-0 in the second, but Niculescu rallied to win the set in the tiebreak, and completely dominated the third set.
Ostapenko is in 40th place in the WTA rankings this week, while Niculescu is ranked 61st.
