Latvia opens Ice Hockey WC against Sweden today

The Latvian national men's ice hockey team will open this year's Ice Hockey World Championships today against Sweden, informs LETA.
The match will be played in Moscow and will begin at 4:15 p.m. (Latvian time). The match will be broadcast live on TV3 and Re:TV.
Latvia is in the tournament's Moscow group, and will play against Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark and Kazakhstan in the group stage.
Latvia will play the Czech Republic on Saturday.
The top four teams in each of the two groups will advance to the tournament's quarterfinals, while the two last placed finishers in each group will be relegated to Division A.
Latvia finished in 13th place at last year's World Championships in the Czech Republic.
Latvia has been given the task of finishing no lower than 10th place at this year's tournament.
