Regardless of losses sustained last year, the international music festival Kubana, banned by Kaliningrad authorities, will be held in Riga again this year, representatives from the Entertainments company told LETA.

The festival will take place in Lucavsala August 11 to August 14, and tickets will be available from Bilesu Serviss outlets.

"Last year festival Kubana found a new home in the capital city of Latvia. Here the organizers have been able to recreate the special atmosphere that the festival visitors love so much," say the festival's organizers.

As reported, Kubana was moved from Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast to Riga last year. The festival was organized in Lucavsala and drew a crowd of 15,000, including 6,000 from Russia.

However, a large number of residents complained that the music was too loud and that the festival should not take place in the center of the city.

Festival Kubana was first organized in Russia in 2009. Some of the acts that have participated in the festival are System of a Down, The Offspring, The Prodigy, Mumiy Troll, Latvia's BrainStorm, and others.
