Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca will give a concert together with Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky at Kremlin, reports LETA, according to information from Garanca's homepage.

The upcoming event is part of the musical project "Hvorostovsky and Friends". This musical project intends to introduce Russian opera enthusiasts to world-famous singers. The first concert of this kind took place in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2006. Similar events were organized also in 2008 and 2009.

This time Hvorostovsky will introduce Russian audience with the famous Latvian singer Garanca.

The concert program consists of a number of world-famous arias. Singers will be accompanied by the "Opera Theatre of Moscow" orchestra with the conductor Constantine Orbelian.

This summer Hvorostovsky found out that he had a brain tumor. A lot of concerts were canceled because of the illness.

After successful treatment, Hvorostovsky took the stage again in September, singing at the Metropolitan Opera in "Il trovatore".
