New Baltic Basketball League season gets underway this evening

The 2015/2016 Baltic Basketball League (BBL) kicks-off this evening, informs LETA.
A total of 14 clubs from four countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Kazakhstan) will be competing in this season's BBL.
Five Latvian clubs are participating in this season's BBL – ''Valmiera'', ''Barons/LDz'', ''Jekabpils'', ''Jurmala/Fenikss'' and ''Liepajas/Triobet''.
The teams have been divided into two groups of seven.
The top five teams in each of the two groups will qualify for the BBL playoffs.
Last season, Lithuanian basketball club ''Siauliai'' defeated Latvian basketball club ''Ventspils'' in the BBL finals. Neither of these clubs will be playing in the BBL this season.
Last season, a total of 22 teams from five countries competed in the BBL.
