Rinkeviсs awards certificates of merit for individual contributions made over Latvia’s first EU Presidency

On 23 September, in recognition of significant contributions made in the process of ensuring a successful Latvian EU Presidency in the first half of 2015, Minister Edgars Rinkeviсs awarded certificates of merit and commendation from the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers to 18 Latvian diplomats serving at Latvia’s missions abroad and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riga, reports BC the Latvian MFA.

 

Likewise, in appreciation and recognition of their accomplishments and work on behalf of Latvia, Minister Rinkeviсs awarded 91 members of the Latvian Foreign Service and other Latvian governmental institutions and cooperation partners with the Latvian Foreign Ministry’s certificates of merit and commendation, for their generous support and high degree of professionalism, shown over the course of Latvia’s first EU Presidency.

 

In addressing those who received such awards, on behalf of the Foreign Ministry and the Cabinet of Ministers, Edgars Rinkeviсs conveyed pleasure in being able to highlight again the excellent work which was done both during the Latvian EU Presidency and in its preparation, looking at what was done both in terms of substance and from an organisational point of view. As times goes by, he said, the Presidency begins to seem further and further in the past, and its reality is now at a distance, but one cannot say thank you too many times for good work that has been performed.
