Garanca, Praulins, and Sareika's albums receive "ECHO Klassik" awards 2015

The jury of the prestigious German classical music awards "ECHO Klassik" has announced this year's prize winners, including several Latvian artists: mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca, composer Ugis Praulins, and violinist Vineta Sareika, reports LETA, according to the "ECHO Klassik" website.

 

Garanca's album "Meditation" has been awarded as the Solo Recording of the Year/Voice, album "Des Kaisers Nachtigall", which also features Praulis' music, has received the Classics for Children prize, and album "Mendelssohn", recorded by Sareika's quartet "Artemis", has been honored as the best chamber music record.

 

"ECHO Klassik" is one of the most prestigious and prominent classical music awards in the world. This year, the awards are presented for the 22nd time, and the award ceremony will be at the Konzerthaus Berlin on October 18.
