Heikkila confirmed as head coach of Riga "Dinamo"

The Latvian hockey club Riga "Dinamo" officially confirmed Finnish hockey coach Kari Heikkila as the new head coach of the club on July 6th 2015, informs LETA.
"Dinamo" General Manager Normunds Sejejs will be one of Heikkila's assistants. The coaching staff will also include Aleksandrs Nizivijs, Juris Klodans, and Eduards Rabe.
As reported, Latvian Artis Abols, who was the head coach of "Dinamo" last season, decided to join the coaching staff of Tolyatti "Lada" club.
Riga "Dinamo" is planning to play eight exhibition games at home to warm up for the season. The first one will be on August 25 when "Dinamo" will take on Kazan "Ak Bars".
As reported, last season Riga "Dinamo" failed to reach the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League for the second time in seven seasons.
