On 25 July 2015, habitants of Riga will have an opportunity to enjoy an original photoconcert banding together music of an indie-pop group “Kris&Oz’’ and annual international photo-exhibition “KITCHEN exposition”, reports Ramona Apalko.

Freshly created concept will suggest to its spectators a new form of relationship between two media: photography and music.

“We're constantly searching for new forms of interaction between photography and other genres of art”, – says KITCHEN exposition curator Ramona Apalko, – “the principal point of intersection between music and photography is the ability of telling emotionally powerful stories”.

Within the frame of this summer photoconcert, “KITCHEN exposition” traditionally unites four young (and this time, only Latvian) photographers: Annija Veldre, Asya Belova, Kristina Sisejeva and Madara Gritāne. The Ukrainian photographer Lesya Polesya will become a special participant.

This time, each participant-photographer has a challenge to create an exclusive photofable inspired by a song from “Kris&Oz” playlist.

Photofable is a neologism created by “KITCHEN exposition”. It defines an atmospheric photo-story, which, despite its dreaminess, has a logical development and unpredictable end.

“Photofables will make an understanding of our songs on a deep level involving listeners into a new experiment where images and melodies become one”, – musicians of “Kris&Oz” duo, Kristina Avkstola and Arturs Osipovs explain the principal idea of the event.

The photoconcert with a laconic name “Image of you” will take place on 25 July 2015 in “Cita Puse” (address: 11. novembra krastmala 35, Riga).
