Latvian Karlis Muiznieks has left his post as head coach of Ukrainian basketball league champions Yuzhny ''Himik'', reports LETA/ELTA.

This past season, ''Himik'' triumphed in the Ukrainian basketball league and went undefeated – 36-0.

"Khimik" defeated Dnipropetrovsk "Dnipro" in the Ukrainian league finals.

Muiznieks had worked at ''Himik'' since 2013.

As reported, Muiznieks has also coached Polish basketball club ''Trefl'' from 2009 to 2011. From 1999 to 2007, he coached Latvian basketball club ''Ventspils'' on several occasions, and coached Latvian basketball club ''Barons/LMT'' until halfway through the 2008/2009 season. At the same time, Muiznieks has coached the Latvian national men's basketball team and has been an assistant coach on the national women's team.
