Timma named VTB League's top young player of the season

Latvian basketball player Janis Timma of the Latvian basketball club "VEF Riga" has been named VTB League's top young player of the season, reports LETA.

Eligible for the title were players who were 23 and younger. The winner was determined according to regular season results, statistics, and opinion of the league's expert council.

The 22-year-old Latvian, who earned eight points, has won the Young Player of the Month award four times – in October, December, January, and March.

Timma played in 28 tournament games this season, averaging 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
