In the second relegation round match at this year's World U-18 Men's Ice Hockey Championships on April 25th, the Latvian under-18 men's ice hockey team defeated Germany 5:3, reports LETA.

With the win, Latvia won the best-of-three relegation round match-up 2-0. Germany will be relegated to Division A next year.

Eriks Zohovs scored two goals for Latvia, with Martins Dzierkals, Filips Buncis and Ricards Bernhards scoring a goal a piece.

As reported, Latvia lost its four group games at this year's World Championships and is currently playing in the tournament's relegation round.

Last year, the Latvian U-18 men's ice hockey squad won the Division A tournament to earn promotion back to the Elite Division this year.

This year, the task for the Latvian national team was to avoid relegation from the Elite Division to Division A, which they have successfully achieved.
