"VEF Riga" BC fought back valiantly to tie the game up 78:78 with seconds to go, but it was not to be, losing to "Astana" by one point – 78:79, informs LETA,
The crushing defeat denied the Rigans a spot in the Russian VTB Basketball League for the second year in a row, but with the win – "Astana", coached by former "VEF" coach Ramunas Butautas, may qualify (but barely).
