Defense officials and U.S. soldiers lay flowers by Oskars Kalpaks' monument in Riga

High-ranking defense officials, commanders of regular forces and Home Guard units, and soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army are participating in a flower-laying ceremony by the Oskars Kalpaks monument in Riga today, reports LETA.
At 12 noon, Defense Minister Raimonds Vejonis (Greens/Farmers), National Armed Forces Commander Raimonds Graube, Latvian soldiers, home guards, and youth guards participated in a commemorative event at Oskars Kalpaks' museum and the memorial site "Airites", the Defense Ministry informed LETA.
A total of 120 youth guards and cadets of the Youth Guard will participate in the event in "Airites".
