Riga "Dinamo" defeated Moscow Oblast "Atlant" 3:1 (0:1, 1:0, 2:0) in a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) game in Riga last night, reports LETA.

Miks Indrasis, Charles Genoway and Gints Meija were the scorers for "Dinamo", whereas Sergei Shmelev scored the only goal for "Atlant", writes LETA.

"Atlant" came out with guns blazing, with Shmelev opening the scoring in the sixth minute of the game. Indrasis scored the first goal for "Dinamo" early in the second period. Although the visitors had more opportunities, Jakub Sedlacek was doing an excellent job in "Dinamo's" goal.

After Genoway made the score 2:1 for "Dinamo" halfway through the third period, "Atlant" had no choice but to pull the goalie with just a few seconds to go, and Meija scored an empty-netter.

With the win, "Dinamo" has moved up to seventh place in the KHL Western League with 68 points from 51 games, however, the teams in eighth to tenth place all have just one point less. In the meantime, "Atlant" is in 12th place with 63 points.
