On December 28th, at 7 PM, the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation will host the concert of Muza Rubackyte (piano, Lithuania/France) and Tedi Papavrami (violin, Albania/Switzerland), reports Herman Braun Foundation.

Program includes Bach, Scarlatti, Paganini, Szymanowski.

A native of Lithuania, now, a resident of Paris, Muza Rubackyte performs orchestral concerts regularly throughout the world and heard frequently on Radio France and Radio Classique. Her continental recital tours have taken her to such venues as Wigmore Hall (London), Beethoven Haus-Bonn, Germany, Salle Gaveau (Paris), Concertgebouw (Netherlands). Lithuania honored Ms. Rubackyte with the country's highest cultural award the "Legion of Merit" for their extraordinary international musical accomplishments. She is heard on highly praised and acclaimed recordings for Lyrinx, Marco Polo, Melodia and Hungaroton in the works of Liszt, Schubert, Brahms, Ciurlionis and others.

Fanfare Magazine wrote: “She is simply one of the greatest Liszt players alive”. The Bermuda press headlined her review as "Passion, fire and thunder from a musical magician." “Her “Annees de Pelerinage” rises to the top to the cycle’s short list” (BBC Music). Besides her active concert career, Ms. Rubackyte is a postgraduate professor at the Lithuanian National Academy of Music and serves as a Jurist throughout many of Europe's piano competitions. Muza Rubackyte is a true and brilliant artist in every sense of what the word "artist" represents to the world of great music.

Tedi Papavrami was born in Tirana in 1971 and started to play the violin at the age of four. He studied violin with his father, well known Professor Robert Papavrami, which impacted heavily on the artistic future of his son. At age 8 he interpreted Sarasate's "Arie Bohemienne" with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Tirana, and three years later Paganini's first violin concerto.

In September 1982, thanks to flautist Alain Marion, the French government offered him a scholarship to study at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris under the direction of Pierre Amoyal. In 1985 he won the contest Rodolfo Lipitzer in Gorizia and in 1986 he won with unanimity the "First Award" of the Conservatory of Paris. In 1987 he received a degree at the Lausanne Conservatory.

Papavrami then continued his musical studies under the direction of Zino Francescatti un Viktorija Mullova. In 1992 he won the prize awarded by Sacem "George Enescu" and, in 1993, the first prize and special prize in the international public "Sarasate" in Pamplona.

In addition to his international career as a violinist, Papavrami has appeared in Les Liasons Dangereuses, the 2003 French film made for television, playing Raphael Danceny. He has also become the French translator of Ismail Kadare's literary works since the death in 2002 of Jusuf Vrioni.

Tedi Papavrami has played in Europe, South Africa, Turkey, Japan, Israel, with the Orchestra of Bologna, Bamberger Symphoniker, Orchestre de Paris, etc.. He has been guided by known orchestra directors such as K. Sanderling, C. Hogwood, A. Pappano, L. Langree, G. Varga, Mr. Macal, C. J. Casadesus, etc..
