Latvian pianist awarded 2nd prize at Lubeck competition

24-year-old Latvian music student Linda Leine (piano) was awarded Second Prize at the 51st International "Possehl-Musikpreis" Competition, held November 17-20 in Lubeck, Germany, her spokesman reported to LETA.
The finals had seven musicians battling it out, selected from a field of 17. The jury was most enthusiastic about percussionist Terumi Oishibashi from Japan, while a second Second Prize was presented to oboe player Guillerme Souza from France. There was no Third Prize winner.
