BC, Vilnius, 23.10.2014.Print version

Persecutors have released three detained persons in the pre-trial investigation in the allegedly non-transparent public procurement by the Interior Ministry on their own recognizance – a written undertaking not to leave, informs LETA/ELTA.

Algimantas Juocevicius, former deputy interior minister, Ervinas Raistenskis, advisor to the interior minister Dailis Barakauskas, and producer Rolandas Skaisgirys, who were detained since Tuesday, have been released on recognizance.

Another two persons involved in the scandal – director of the public entity Pradas Media Justinas Garliauskas and head of the company NTService Peisachas Kacerginskis – were released on Wednesday afternoon. They were also released on their own recognizance.

As reported, the Special Investigation Service (STT) carried out several searches in homes and workplaces of five people as well as in the headquarters of the Order and Justice Party. The searches are related to an investigation over possible large-scale trading in influence by an organised group.
