The Lithuanian-Latvian co-production ("Lokomotive" and "Uljanos Kim" studios) about a rescue squad medic leading a double life, is Lithuania's official entry in the race for one of the five nominations for the 2015 Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film, informs LETA/ELTA.

Director Ignas Jonynas’ "Losejas" or "The Gambler" premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival, and this past spring won Best Picture of the Year at the Lithuanian Cinema and Television Awards ("Silver Crane"), and the Special Jury Prize at the Warsaw Film Festival. It has been seen in many countries, and it will begin regular showings in Lithuania September 24.

The movie, described as a taut thriller with strains of melodrama, tells the story of Vincent and his fallout from gambling addiction.
