The 2nd International Short-film Festival "Open Place" is under way in Rezekne and will continue until next week, informs LETA.

This past Sunday was the first day of the festival, featuring various full-length features. Today, August 18, the festival will screen a number of documentaries and animation films. Tuesday, August 19, will feature the second part of the feature film marathon.

The festival's program also features live music. The large auditorium at the Eastern Latvia Concert Hall (or ""Gors" the Embassy of Latgale") in Rezekne will hold several concerts from August 19 to August 20.

The festival's participants will be evaluated by a board of judges – director Laima Zurgina, producer of the Baltic short-film festival "2ANNAS" Amanda Boka, cinema and video arts expert Agnese Ivane, cinema consultant and one of the founders of the Umea International Short Film Festival Tom Palmen and documentary director Inara Kolmane.
