''Malmo'' defeated ''Ventspils'' on aggregate 1:0 to advance to the tournament's third qualification round.

Isaac Thelin scored the winner for ''Malmo'' in the first half.

In the first-leg match in Sweden last week, ''Ventspils'' was able to hold onto a surprising scoreless draw with ''Malmo''.

''Malmo'' will now play Czech football club Prague ''Sparta'' in the next qualification round.

''Malmo'' is a 17-time Swedish league champion, and won the Swedish league last season.

''Malmo'' is currently in first place in the Swedish league with 34 points from 15 matches, while ''Ventspils'' sits currently in second place in the Latvian league with 44 points from 20 matches.
