„Mirabai Ceiba“.

June 20-22, 2014, the international Solstice Yoga and Music festival for the third time will gather people from near and far in the beautiful valley of Sigulda. The world famous spiritual and mantra music performers „Mirabai Ceiba“ from Mexico/Germany and Alexia Chellun from Spain are going to be the two musical headliners of the festival, informed BC the public relations coordinator of  “The Solstice Yoga and Music festival” Sanita Ribena.

The festival will offer yoga and meditation workshops, lead by experienced and internationally acclaimed teachers from many different countries – USA, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Russia and India. All festival participants will have the chance to celebrate the summer solstice in the Latvian tradition accompanied by the best Latvian traditional folk groups. At the end of each festival day both local and international musicians will perform in a concert.

„We’ve planned the festival program in a way that is equally interesting to both local yoga practitioners and the ones coming from afar,“ says the festival organizer Sandis Duselis, „it can be a very inspiring thing to meet with your friends in the prime of summer, and try out yoga with excellent teachers in the beauty of nature. We have also made sure that each participant gets to experience the unique traditional rituals for celebrating the summer solstice.“

Along with yoga and meditation workshops, there will be a chance to participate in other interesting classes, trying out the ancient martial arts technique called Gatka, dancing away in a Shakti dance class, relaxing in the healing sounds of the Gong, learning more about Ayurveda, meeting the best yoga teachers of Latvia, and more.

The festival is also a family friendly event – while the parents meditate, do yoga, dance or socialize, their little ones will be entertained and looked after by experienced professionals in the „children’s camp“.  The festival location is a naturally beautiful and eco clean area on the banks of the River Gauja in Sigulda. Based on a survey, recently done by GlobalGrassoper.com, the Gauja river was named one of the 10 most beautiful rivers in Europe and Sigulda, the festival town,  is only about 40 km from Riga – the 2014 cultural capital of Europe.

Delicious vegetarian meals will be available for purchase three times a day, and the location of the festival will offer a broad choice of sleeping options, depending on everyone’s needs – a hotel, a guest house or a tent in a prepared camping ground with facilities.

Summer Solstice is a unique experience. It is one of the greatest Latvian celebrations -  people gather around bonfires, enjoy the beauty of nature, dance, sing and perform all night long welcoming the early sunrise in the morning.  It is a perfect time for meditation and yoga as the powerful energy of mother earth is at its peak, and can fill you with a divine sense of healing, bliss and strength.

The world famous spiritual and mantra music band „Mirabai Ceiba“ will perform on the festival grounds June 19th, 2014.

„Mirabai Ceiba“ is a husband and wife duo – Markus Sieber and Angelika Baumbach – both talented musicians and yoga teachers. Together they create a new kind of spiritual world music, for lyrics sometimes borrowing the wise words of sages like Rumi, Thich Nhat Hanh, Guru Nanak and Yogi Bhajan. „Mirabai Ceiba“ is one of the most well known „Spirit Voyage“ musicians, playing concerts all over the world, this spring touring through Europe. Albums released by the duet have received numerous nominations and awards, like „The best vocal album 2008“, „Top 10 best New Age Musicians“.
