The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) decided that their mission in Tanzania will be performed by Lithuania's TV host Beata Nicholson, actor Giedrius Savickas and Goodwill Ambassador in Lithuania Virginija Kochanskyte, reported LETA/ELTA.

During the mission, the representatives of Lithuania will communicate with the poorest Tanzania's families who are suffering from fatal illnesses and lack of the sanitation.

According to Executive Director at UNICEF Lithuania Jovita Majauskaite, Lithuania's were interested not only in their own affairs but in the world's problems as well. She had a chance to ascertain herself during her missions to Cambodia and Sierra Leone.

"Famous Lithuania's people who faced the poverty as well as the TV motivate our citizens. After the organized missions, nearly LTL 1.5 million (EUR 434 thousand) was donated. More than 200 thousand children were vaccinated from fatal illnesses. The results are majestic. Lithuania can be proud of that," said Majauskaite.
